Grant Writer/Artist and Welder seeking to help fund and record sustainability models

I have been considering a community since reading Mother Earth News in the 90’s. The state of the world has made this issue a top priority for me now.

I hope to find a community that can utilize the talents of a grant writer/artist and art educator and a welder. I also have skills in painting and carpentry.

It is my hope to find a community that is trying to create a model for self-sufficiency that can be duplicated and shared through blueprints and print. (Clean energy models, food production both outdoors and indoors through hydro or aquaponics. I am also interested in the use of 3D printing to create parts to replace small items when they break and the use of dehumidifiers to gather water for drinking and household purposes.)

I’d like to offer my skills as a grant writer and those of my partner as a welder to see if there are any communities who share this interest.

If you’re still searching, would love to connect…in the processes of creating a community and our interests/skills overlap surprisingly well.

Good luck

Hi Sheila. I’ve reached out with a DM before, but the following is a project that’s just getting started, as you say, with “a model for self-sufficiency that can be duplicated and shared through blueprints and print.” Here’s a brief description with links to details. We could sure use your help and others’ as well. If this location doesn’t fit for you, you are welcome to adapt and implement the model in your own area.
