I’m Noah, a member of Berkeley Moshav, a cohousing community finishing construction in Berkeley (we move in this fall). I’m posting because a few of us have taken on a second site, and someone here, or someone you know, might want to build on it.
While we were building, the seller of our land offered us the parcel across the street, hoping to see a unique community-minded project nearby rather than a conventional project. A few of us from moshav pooled our money and took her offer. We can’t build it ourselves, so we’re looking for a partner with the capacity to build something community-oriented there. Our hope is that it’s the start of a “crowding-in” effect of community projects on the block.
The site is in Berkeley on San Pablo Ave, already acquired, with seller financing and due diligence in place. There’s more at www.2400sanpablo.org, and I’m glad to answer questions.
