Hello everyone. I am a newby and just want t introduce myself.

I have seen the Collapse and Reset, that we are going through now for the past 20 years coming our way.
It will cause a mad rush into Intentional Communities for a lot of folks that will choose to get out of the Rat Race. I have been involved with projects to mitigate the suffering people will go through due to the Collapse.

What I can say for sure is that there will be a lot of grants to fund Intentional Communitys, just waiting for the asking. These grants will cover the costs for creating these communities.

This will open the world up for folks to create their own local communities.
I have written about this happening and have been holding back on pushing the concepts
until the banks start collapsing; we are at that point now.

I will FREELy share my work product on how to create community for up to 500 persons, all on grant funding. I do not stand to make money from this.

The work product will show how to take an existing Grant Request and alter it to fit your own community.

Again freely help yourself. Freely available at CoopVillages.org

The first question people ask is “How can I find 500 members?”

This is from the Village Life section on the above website.

FINDING 500 MEMBERS

The following suggested ad might be run in the Sunday newspaper once a month in order to spark younger membership when we are ready to build. The ad would be in the General Employment section.

  • Now Hiring – All Trades

  • No experience necessary

  • Long-term Employment, 300 positions

  • Health Benefits / Retirement

  • Family Housing provided

  • Free Child Care

  • Free Job Training

  • Single Parent families welcome

  • Personal transportation not required or needed

  • No relocation from this area, Santa Rosa County

  • Non-Profit organization

  • Contact: co-opvillages.us

The ad is a tongue-in-cheek demonstration to the individual who recently posed the reasonable question of “How are we ever going to find 500 people locally who wish to live in the village?” It is not hard to imagine that we would find ourselves flooded with applicants, far more than we could possibly accept. Please remember that one of the twelve Focus groups, How Do We Expand Our Community, would be charged with the task of membership screening. The following suggested ad might be run in the Sunday newspaper once a month in order to spark younger membership when we are ready to build. The ad would be in the General Employment section.

The Dreaded “Ds”.

The village economy would provide a lifetime shield from the financial impact of the dreaded “D’s”, that being: downsized, divorced, death of a partner, disease, disability, dementia and delinquent mortgage and utility bills.

The first question you should ask is “How can we be certain that large grants will suddenly appear to fund large Intentional Communities?”

Below is a two part article I wrote two days ago, with Part I focusing of why the system must, and will soon collapse. Part II below is how a reasonable person can see the large grants (both government and Humanitarian) coming soon.

My sincerest apology.

How to Avoid County Planners in building an Intentional Community.

Part 5) The Zeitgeist : the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era).
Once things collapse in 2026, then Zeitgeist mood in the U.S. will be much different.

There will be extreme loss of jobs and a major homeless problem for local governments.

That will be the time to approach a county leadership head on with a plan they cannot dispute nor disregard.

The plan I am suggesting is something like the Co-Op Villages plan, both website and a bound Grant Proposal. This is a well documented and detailed plan that cannot be ignored.

This plan will create 100 to 500 new jobs in the county. It will show itself with the possibility of a grant or already with a multi- Million $ grant in hand.

This plan will be able to remove up to 500 homeless persons from their community.

This plan can be replicated many times over in that community; it is not just a one-time opportunity.

This plan can be placed in the hand of an official to be shared with a spouse, preacher or others.
That official does not have to read it all, he can simply share it and let the plan sell itself.

This is how to get around the county zoning and construction ordinances.

Any one with a well documented Intentional Community plan can do this!

A few points about construction that are applicable in FL, particularly where I am.

A large commercial kitchen and dining area sufficient to handle all farm produce and anticipated residents and guests (est. 1 person per 2 acres) need not be indoors. A large pole barn, screened in like a pool cage and fitted with removable panels for inclement weather, is a low-cost option that mimics many restaurants that I’ve patronized. With shade, good air flow, and protection from insects, even the hottest parts of the summer can be tolerated with a setup like this.

Air conditioning is really only necessary in personal suites for comfortable sleeping and mold/mildew protection for clothing and personal items.

The ubiquitous shipping container is an excellent choice of a base unit in a plug-and-play setup because of its low cost and durability. A 20’ container is a great size for a “junior suite” for a single person or young couple just starting out, can be bought for $2-5k delivered, and needs only concrete pillars for foundation. This site sells anchors, brackets, and bridges for connecting or stacking them, plus detachable wheels to make moving them into position a snap. If one has the resources or one’s group lack construction skills, companies such as Containers in Motion out of Boca Raton have many finished options that can be delivered to your site.

A standard hook-up layout like those found on small RVs (water, sewer, 30 amp electric) is all that is needed to plug into the utilities. A more advanced spec which includes hot and cold water, refrigerant, and fiber data should be developed, with a goal of centralizing those services to minimize the cost per individual unit.

The site plan would include different sized plats based around container dimensions; I personally prefer adjacent condominium style to minimize infrastructure requirements and maximize arable space, but others might prefer discrete units more resembling a micro-suburb. Either way, different sizes would be offered; for example, the founder group that contributed the initial resources, likely Boomers or Gen X, might each get a “Forty Cube” in which they could build a multi-story, multi-family apartment for themselves and their children and grandchildren.

This type of modularity would allow different models of ownership. The IC might own some of the junior suites or larger deluxe suites for housing temporary or transient work-share associates, for guest rentals, or temporary housing for new members while their privately-owned units are being built. It would give an easy “level-up” system so that younger people or those without assets could stay in the work-share junior suites until saving up enough to build out their own private residences. If the units are detachable, they can easily be moved to sister/daughter villages as the network expands.

Gimpy: Excellent thoughts here.

I fixed the link; thanks.
