Is there a line in the sand with who is in community? I ask this because if there is no community that is listed that someone fits into. Where do they go? Yes they could try to form their own. But is that truly communing? It feels like being in grade school again or even in the ( cough cough ) real.. world. Where do the ones that fit in with nobody go if nobody wants to join them? Or are we taking things way too far by dividing ourselves even more based off of shared interest? When we could be working with those that have different interest and finding ways no matter how difficult to make it work.
I mainly bring this up as someone who see’s listings of places with housing that people can buy into. But for the person or persons that are living paycheck to paycheck; is it community that comes to mind when they see that? Knowing they can’t afford that, even in listings for those supposedly looking for “intentional” community. I guess we have to ask then what is the intent? And why is it being lumped in with community? When I think of community. I think of people working together to help one another. I see community after disasters happen. But does it really take THAT…. to have community for all? And not just some sub genre of what is being called community? Yeah we all have different beliefs and opinions but should that make it where we cannot live together still?
Maybe community should be based on necessity instead of choice? After all we NEED each other, being social beings. Again SOMEHOW…. we make it work when a disaster happens and we have to live in tent citys while there is no assistants from the government ( no surprise there ). I don’t really buy into nationalism but as far as the United States is concerned, the only WE THE PEOPLE is literally the people because there is no we with the government overhead that’s for sure.
We could steward the land a lot more effectively with all taking care of it not divided. I may not like certain people but that doesn’t mean I can’t plant seeds in the dirt with them and possibly learn to know them over time like we would do sometimes as children in grade school. There were many times that I didn’t get along with someone at first and then over time we did. All these sayings people hear from pop culture figures that aren’t put into practice enough like “ give peace a chance “. The key words there are give it a chance. So I’m asking you all to give it a chance by opening your communities to all people if we really believe everyone should have a place to belong.
I love you all and I truly pray that you can forgive those for not being exactly what you’re looking for and instead love them for who they are right now and work with them to help the earth. Whether you believe there is no saving the earth or not… what else do we got at this point?
Back to my big box store grind job I go. I sure miss when people could just sit down and talk without it being triggered by every little thing.
Just one more thing to add. Not everyone needs to be a sacred energy healer or have a connection with Jesus to commune either. Those are PERSONAL pursuits. And in just helping tend the land we are doing what both of those encompass anyway. From there if somebody wants to pray with crystals and do yoga or do a Bible study… they can do that in their own PERSONAL devotion time. It’s not needed to help one another AS A COMMUNITY. There should be no division. And even if said left or right political wing gets what it wants be it guns or abortion banned. Guess what? People still going to do both on the down low.
Alright. That felt good to write. Have a great day!
