I just noticed that when you reply to a post, your answer appears at the bottom instead of directly beneath the post. Would be practical if they sticked together.
Unfortunately this is not a feature of Discourse, and is not a functionality we can add. If you poke around, the Discourse team is VERY firm on this. Here is some of their reasoning:

TBH I am pretty torn about it. I think that we will have to use the ability to branch off a new topic pretty heavily, and get familiar with @´ing someone and quoted replies. I can definitely see their reasoning, but it is a practice I find a bit outdated…
