Coweeta Heritage Center, which has hosted volunteers and taught self-reliance for over 20 years, is seeking founding members to establish a permanent community in a serene valley in Western NC. The community, situated off-grid with hydroelectric and solar power, will serve as a healing retreat center in a drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free environment. Members will contribute time and/or money to support the development of permanent housing and shared facilities, including a kitchen, dining area, and wellness services. The center emphasizes sustainable living, gardening, and self-sufficiency, with temporary housing available during the construction period. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the center via email (www.coweeta@gmail.com) or website to learn more and apply.
