Honesty builds trust: Online live discussion Tues April 1, 2025 at 7:30 ET

April fool’s day is my favorite! It’s the day we get to tell prankster lies. The rest of the time, I think of honesty as a courageous spiritual practice and a necessity for trust-building. However, is it ever justifiable to withhold information in a way that could be considered deceptive but also more compassionate? Bring your perspective and experiences so we can learn from each other.

My father was a federal judge. He always told us that we must never lie. But he also said that it wasn’t always necessary to tell everything you knew. It’s not lying if you are not asked. Omission is not the same as commission.
