Old-ish hippy of the 1960s/1970s variety; weather forecaster and physical scientist; professor of meteorology, physics, and climate change (in that order) at a little college in the White Mountains; meteorological consultant to attorneys; not-too-bad charcoal drawing artist; putterer and tinkerer in wood and maker of things; reader of mostly non-fiction; husband to a gardener and landscape professional who puts up with me; father of a daughter; baker of bread.
I am interested in intentional communities for a couple of primary reasons: (1) it seems like a smart method of climate change adaptation; (2) it seems like a smart way for people to share common resources. Beyond that is my belief that small, multi-generational communities are the mode that evolution made us most likely to succeed in.
